As an independent advisor and interim manager in impact investing, Toine has shaped investment strategies for multiple impact funds, supporting their setup and operational design from the ground up.
At Start Foundation Participaties, he works with the investment team that completed four investments in their first year of operations, focusing on enterprises that create meaningful employment for underrepresented talent.
Previously, Toine served as Co-CEO and CFO at DOB Equity, a Netherlands-based family-funded impact investor with operations in Kenya and focus on Sub-Saharan Africa. He was instrumental in building DOB’s portfolio through deal sourcing and execution, and served on the Boards of several portfolio companies, focussing on governance and performance improvements.
