Pensioen Pro Awards 2026
In 2026, for the thirteenth time, the annual industry awards will be presented to high achievers, thought leaders and trailblazers in the pension industry. This annual award ceremony is more than a celebratory occasion. The pension industry faces considerable challenges. Targeted knowledge sharing and the innovative capacity of the sector have never been more important. And that is exactly what the Pension Pro Awards stand for.
It goes without saying that it is of the utmost importance that the entries are assessed in a completely objective manner. All entries are carefully screened by our awards editorial team and forwarded to the independent professional jury without the intervention of third parties. Sponsors of the awards ceremony have no influence whatsoever on the judging process.
These professional awards thus form an independent, objective platform for innovations and best practices, where parties in the pension field share knowledge and inspire each other. Because that is what it is all about.

Gold Awards:
- Pension Fund of the Year (Audience Award).
- Outstanding Contribution to the Industry
Silver Awards:
- Best Pension Fund > €15mrd
- Best Pension Fund < €15mrd
Themed Awards:

- Communication
- Investment Management
- Benefit administration
- Pension funds and similar not-for-profit pension organizations are eligible for an Award. They may nominate themselves or be nominated by others. Nominations will be kept confidential.
- Nominations can be made until May 8
By clicking the "Nominate" button above and completing the nomination form. You may submit up to 1 page of supporting material if you wish.
- Candidates may enter with multiple submissions and in multiple categories.
- Only new submissions will be accepted. As such, you cannot compete with an entry from a previous year.
- The Award in the category "outstanding contribution to the sector" is granted to an individual, team or (non-commercial) organisation. Please note: as of this year, the category is open to nominations from within the sector.
- An expert professional jury selects the winners of the themed and silver awards.
- The jury will compile a shortlist of 3 pension funds from all entries to be considered for the people's choice award. Readers of FD and Pensioen Pro and listeners of BNR will select the winner of the Golden Award for 'Pension Fund of the Year' from this shortlist.
Gold Awards
- Pension fund of the year ( people's choice award)
Our professional jury selects a shortlist of 3 candidates out of all the submitted entries that either stand out in multiple categories or excel strongly in one or multiple areas. Readers of Pensioen Pro and Het Financieele Dagblad and listeners of BNR will choose a winner from this shortlist.
- Outstanding contribution to the sector
Awarded to a person, team or (non-commercial) organisation that has made an exceptional contribution to the pension industry and/or the pension system, either in the past year or over a longer period of time ("oeuvre award").
Silver Awards
The awards for best pension fund greater than/less than €15bn are given on the basis of excellence - e.g. in policy, performance, governance, communication, customer focus - in a peer group of similar funds.
Themed Awards
- Responsible Investment/ESG
This award is granted to a candidate who has excelled in considering/integrating ESG factors and has a clear ESG policy in strategy and investment practice.
- Communication
Provides recognition to a candidate who stands out with the most emulation-worthy and customer-focused communications.
- Investment Management
This award is granted on the basis of approach/implementation of asset management that meets the needs and objectives of the fund in an exemplary manner, for example in terms of risk, return, cost, transparency, et cetera.
- Benefit administration
This award is granted on the basis of thought leadership, excellence and innovation in the field of pension implementation and administration.
Where will the award ceremony take place this year?
This year's award ceremony will take place on Tuesday, June 23, at Venue Collective, Amsterdam.
How are the winners chosen?
An expert professional jury selects the winners in the various categories, and a shortlist for the Golden Award for 'Pension Fund of the Year'. Readers of FD and Pensioen Pro and BNR listeners choose the winner from this shortlist.
Who is eligible for an award?
Pension funds and similar not-for-profit pension organizations are eligible for an Award. They may nominate themselves or be nominated by others. Nominations will be kept confidential.
