Veerle is the co-founder of PYM, the Conscious Investors’ Community, the leading independent platform in the Benelux with over 2000 members, which connects and guides wealth owners to invest their capital consciously for a better world. Veerle has been an impact investor since 2004 following an international career in investor relations. She has built a diverse investment portfolio of direct and indirect investments in funds in sectors such as micro-finance, renewable energy, cleantech, aquaculture and food & water distribution. Both in developed as well as in emerging markets in Africa and Latin America. After starting her career in investor relations in New York, she moved to Paris and London to set up the European operations of Technimetrics, one of the first fintech companies, which was then acquired by Thomson Reuters. Veerle then became a Partner at Brunswick, the leading financial communications agency, where she was responsible for developing the Benelux market. She relocated to Amsterdam to lead her family office, worked as an advisor for impact organisations and served on several boards, including the board of the Social-Alpha Bastion Fund.

She has also covered international roles in strategy, business operations and market access at Novartis, and led large change/transformation programmes with McKinsey&Co.

Sytske Groenewald joined Cardano (former ACTIAM) in September 2021 as Senior Sustainability & Impact Analyst. She is responsible for the implementation of our impact strategies and the execution of our impact measurement, management and reporting function for the impact funds operated. Sytske has a seat in the investment committees (veto right) and leading the publication of the (annual) impact reports. Further, she acts as the liaison between the Impact Investing team and the Cardano Strategy and Sustainability team. Prior to joining Cardano, she worked as Director Impact & Operations at Inclusive Impact Investments B.V. She is seasoned and experienced in ESG aspects of businesses and managing the social returns of impact investments. Further, she has a strong background and experience in socio-economic research (Ph.D.), impact measurement, and the usage of innovative data solutions for social problems. Sytske holds a master’s degree in Cultural Anthropology and a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Utrecht. She completed her Ph.D. study at Wageningen University and Research Centre.

Laure is an investment professional with 25 years of experience in the financial sector, specialized in sustainability and impact. A former investment banker, she started working in 1995 at Banque Nationale de Paris (BNP) in Equity Advisory, then joined ABN AMRO Rothschild in 2000, first in Paris where she structured equity transactions, and from 2001 in London where she directed marketing and syndication of equity and equity-linked transactions. Laure moved to The Netherlands in 2005 and worked as an independent consultant in strategy and financial advisory. In parallel, she remained involved in various impact initiatives as a volunteer. From 2013 to 2018, she was head of investments at Cordaid, an INGO based in The Netherlands, and led the transformation into a fully independent impact fund. Since 2018 she works as an impact advisor and non-executive director. Laure is Chairman of the Board of Directors and member of the audit committee of REGMIFA (Regional MSME investment fund in Sub-Saharan Africa) since May 2019. Laure established the Netherlands Advisory Board on impact investing (Stichting NAB) and is its Managing Director since 2020.
